In fact, I don’t believe in superstitions. But one day, I found myself in a situation that made me question my beliefs. It all started when I moved into a new apartment. The previous tenant had left behind a few things, including a small wooden box. I didn’t think much of it and put it away in a drawer.

But then strange things started happening. Every night, I would hear a faint tapping sound coming from the drawer where I had put the box. At first, I thought it was just my imagination, but the sound persisted. I tried to ignore it, but it was impossible to sleep with that constant tapping.

One day, I decided to investigate. I opened the drawer and took out the box. It was intricately carved with strange symbols that I couldn’t decipher. As soon as I touched it, the tapping stopped. I felt a chill run down my spine, but I brushed it off as a coincidence.

That night, I had a nightmare. I was in a dark forest, and I could hear the tapping sound getting louder and louder. Suddenly, I saw a figure emerging from the shadows. It was a woman with long black hair and a pale face. She was holding the wooden box in her hands, and she was tapping it with her long, bony fingers.

I woke up in a cold sweat, and I knew that something was wrong. I couldn’t shake off the feeling that the box was cursed. I decided to get rid of it, but I didn’t know how. I tried to throw it away, but it kept reappearing in my apartment. I tried to give it away, but no one wanted it.

Days turned into weeks, and I became more and more paranoid. I started seeing the woman from my nightmare everywhere I went. She would appear in the shadows, watching me with her cold, dead eyes. I knew that I had to do something before it was too late.

Finally, I decided to confront my fear. I took the box and went to the forest where I had seen the woman in my dream. I dug a hole in the ground and buried the box deep inside. As soon as I covered it with dirt, the tapping stopped, and the woman disappeared.

I never saw her again, but I still have nightmares about that cursed box. I learned my lesson and now believe that some superstitions are not to be taken lightly.
