Asian Americans come from a variety of countries in Asia, including China, Japan, and Korea. They began immigrating to the United States in large numbers during the mid-19th century, seeking better economic opportunities and to escape political turmoil in their home countries. Native Americans are the indigenous people of the United States and have been living on the land for thousands of years. They were forced to relocate to reservations during the 19th century and have faced numerous challenges, including loss of land and cultural suppression.
