As a British kid studying in a Russian school, my experience has been both challenging and rewarding. One of the biggest differences I noticed was the language barrier. Russian is not my native language, so it was difficult for me to understand the lessons and communicate with my classmates at first. However, I was fortunate enough to have a supportive teacher who helped me with my language skills and encouraged me to practice speaking Russian with my classmates.
Another difference I noticed was the teaching style. In Russia, the education system is more focused on memorization and repetition, whereas in the UK, we are encouraged to think critically and express our opinions. At first, I found it difficult to adjust to this new style of learning, but I soon realized that it was a valuable skill to have.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of studying in a Russian school has been the cultural exchange. I have learned so much about Russian culture, traditions, and history, and have had the opportunity to share my own culture with my classmates.
