The three branches of the US government are the legislative branch, the executive branch, and the judicial branch. The legislative branch is responsible for making the laws, while the executive branch is responsible for enforcing the laws and the judicial branch is responsible for interpreting the laws. Therefore, the branch that makes the laws is the legislative branch. It is composed of the House of Representatives and the Senate, collectively known as Congress. The legislative branch has the power to introduce, debate, and pass bills that become laws once they are signed by the President. The legislative branch also has the power to override a presidential veto with a two-thirds majority vote in both the House and the Senate.
