In example a, the imperative is «pack some warm clothes,» so we report it as «She told me to pack some warm clothes.» In example b, the imperative is «not to take a lot of things with me,» so we report it as «She told me not to take a lot of things with me.» It is important to note that when reporting the imperative, we use the same tense as the original sentence.
