The verb that expresses obligation/strong recommendation is «must». For example, «You must finish your homework before you can go out to play.» The verb that expresses lack of obligation/necessity/permission/possibility is «may». For example, «You may leave early if you finish your work.» The verb that expresses recommendation/advice is «should». For example, «You should eat more vegetables for a healthy diet.» The verb that expresses prohibition is «must not» or «cannot». For example, «You must not smoke in this building.»
