Partner: Hey, what’s up?
You: Hey, I need to vent about something that’s been bothering me.
Partner: Sure, what’s going on?
You: Well, you know how my friend always borrows things from me?
Partner: Yeah, I remember you mentioning that.
You: Well, it’s getting really frustrating because she never gives anything back. I’ve lent her clothes, books, and even my laptop, and she always forgets to return them.
Partner: That’s not cool. Have you talked to her about it?
You: Yeah, I’ve mentioned it a few times, but she just brushes it off and says she’ll give it back later. But later never comes.
Partner: That’s really disrespectful of her. Have you thought about setting some boundaries?
You: I have, but I don’t want to come off as rude or mean. I just wish she would be more responsible and respectful of my things.
Partner: I understand, but you have every right to protect your belongings. Maybe you could start by saying no the next time she asks to borrow something.
You: Yeah, that’s a good idea. I just need to be more assertive and stand up for myself.
Partner: Absolutely. You deserve to be treated with respect and have your things returned to you.
